Incubation Hub

IITKGP’s Research Park is designed to promote engineering and social entrepreneurship in the region, fostering innovation and product development to drive the growth of the IIC and improve its ARIIA ranking. Entrepreneurs can register with the Research Park (RP) for incubation, which requires at least one faculty mentor. The iHub offers desk office and co-working spaces to work on prototypes and business models while leveraging a robust support ecosystem that includes logistics, technical and business mentoring, and access to design and prototyping infrastructure such as CAD/CAM and 3D printing. The iHub also facilitates networking with alumni and successful entrepreneurs and provides funding opportunities from DST, PRISM, TIEST, and other sources. Entrepreneurs are expected to move to a soft rental part of the RP upon receiving their first funding or after three years. Key challenges include building a comprehensive ecosystem of support services, defining a functional business model, and promoting tangible, brick-and-mortar products by addressing the right problems.
